I recently read a quote from Sitting Bull a Native American Hunkpapa Lakota leader who lead his people during years of resistance against United States government policies that severely discriminated against his people. I believe it has meaning for our school leaders and all who serve the greater good of humanity.
"The warrior for us, is one who sacrifices himself for the good of others. His task is to take care of the elderly, the defenseless, those who cannot provide for themselves, and above all, the children, the future of humanity"
In some real ways those who serve on the school board have the opportunity to adopt a warrior perspective as selfless advocates for our youth and the future of humanity in our hometown of Pittsburgh. Your vote for me, will provide me with this important opportunity to serve our youth and those who teach them.
